My name is Danyell Davis. In the 1950's my family began a long history with Japan. My grandfather served in the United States military for 22.5 years. He was stationed in Japan with his wife (my grandmother) and two children (my mom and aunt). My family loved Japan and the Japanese people. Therefore, when it was time for me to attend college my grandfather suggested that I major in the Japanese language. He stated that the relationship between the US and Japan is critical. I enrolled at the University of Central Florida and embarked on my first Japanese language course. I continued my studies at the University of Florida and declared my major in East Asian Languages and Literature with a concentration in Japanese.
I moved to Osaka, Japan as an exchange student and attended Kansai Gaidai Daigaku (University). I lived with two local families and made great friends. I was totally immersed into the culture. I was hired by a Japanese company to manage a franchise of hotels and restaurant-bars. After successfully managing a local franchise, I returned to the United States to work for the State of Florida as an International Business Manager. I was one of three chosen as an advance team member of the first and largest trade mission from Florida to Japan, Taiwan, and Korea led by the Governor of Florida. During my employment with the State of Florida, I returned to college to obtain my Masters in International Business Administration, from Nova Southeastern University. I also took a Master’s level certificate course in business at the University of South Africa (UNISA). I garnered my teaching experience from Trinity International University and The Language Academy. Prior to working for Kishimoto Enterprises, I started Japanesetutor.biz.
I am a Japanese Language Tutor that currently works in the field. I work for the Japanese division of a global company reading, writing and speaking Japanese at Jeunesse Global.
